The off-road racing event has become synonymous with endurance and is often described as one of the toughest motorsport events in the world.

The official route for the Dakar Rally 2025 was recently revealed, covering almost 8,000 kilometers of desert terrain, starting in Bisha and culminating in Shubaytah, Saudi Arabia, over two weeks.

The prologue, scheduled to start on January 3, consists of a short 29-kilometer special stage through Bisha. The next day will be the first long special stage, a 412-kilometer route through Bisha’s rugged terrain.

On January 5, the Chrono Stage of 48 hours will serve as the first major test. With nearly 1,000 kilometers of specials, the teams will have to work 24 hours a day to cover enough ground while ensuring their vehicles remain in good condition.

Next, the marathon phase begins, consisting of many stages where competitors will cover an average of 600 kilometers daily. The first rest day is scheduled for January 10. After that, the adventure continues until they reach the Empty Quarter.

Here, competitors will have three days to cover the most treacherous part of the Saudi desert. If they make it to the other side, the city of Shubaytah will be waiting to welcome the finalists.

If you want to check the specific details of each stage, as well as the distances for each one, visit the official Dakar Rally website and clear your schedule for January 3 for a good dose of adrenaline.
